hi all. are there any reference books/ publications out there that deal directly and in depth with the straits settlements issues? I've been fly specking a couple of the a27 $25 issues and have noticed what looks like a re-engraved plate along with other discrepancies, scotts makes no note of this. the closest they come is the very general type 1 and 2 references for some other issues in the beginning of the catalog, none of which apply to the a27 issue..

The only reference I'm aware of is Robson Lowe's Asia volume but that's very old now. Surely there's something more recent?

Here is a resource you can search for available literature. It's from the APRL.

If you are an APS or APRL member you can borrow most of the books that are in the APRL library.

There are a few dozen references to Straits Settlements, mostly auction catalogs. But some of these catalogs can be very comprehensive and become almost a reference.
