Still think the sun(?) below the horse could be an emblem of whomever put out these stamps. A rising or setting sun behind 3 hills, which are in front of what looks to me like the top of a numeral 1.

It is definitely a numeral 1 and have considered it due to your earlier message but can't come up with any connection

A miracle: I discovered today another stamp clearly of the same series, unfortunately as difficult to identify with only the letters S and W. Any new ideas?

As you are familiar with the "Bicycle stamps";these seem too be also as mysterious.

These, I believe have been identified, An Indian Pedal manufacturer.
In a thread called "Help To Identify This Stamp", Google will not find it, left buried in SCF

The Pedal manufacturer theory is not 100% sure,and not conclusive from what I gather..

There is a similarity with the Westphalia & Saxony coat of arms ?,,(W &S)

To my eyes these (items in original posting) have more of a Southeastern European look, rather than something from one of the German States.
