My wife was scanning Stampwants and saw a Germany b55..she asked me "do you have this one?" I checked my album and scott catalog...i certainly did not have one..scott said $140.00 used ! there were about 9 bids on it..i put something like $9.20 on it and later my wife said I won it..for $6.19 ! Why such a bargain?..it appears to be a very sound stamp and Dougrugman has sold my wife plenty of stamps and never a problem....perhaps because its a single not a complete set ? he starts many items off at a penny and lets the collectors decide the value...perhaps this was a case where he did not make out !!
i have noticed internet dealers on Wensy.com and Stampwants that do not post the catalog value on a stamp..perhaps they just dump out volume and hope to make a lot of sales !! I always post the catalog value and start at 30 percent of cat !!
There's no worse feeling than to be ignored by one of your buddies. Here I was being nice enough to offer to take the obvious fake off Phil's hands so he wouldn't be embarrassed and he doesn't even notice.
