Rhön sheep are a very hardy breed of sheep able to withstand rough weather and rough foraging. They are now a rare breed, found mainly in eastern parts of Germany. The description says that there were only 300 left in 1960, now there are over 5000 registered animals. They do not grow horns. (It looks as if the sheet is a bit wrinkled, but that is in the photograph; 2016)
