Hi,
Of the 300 or so pre 1960 stamps I placed on Steiner pages, I ended up with 5 that I just can't locate - either in Scotts or Gibbons. If you could help identify (i.e. scott # or ???) it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
But I can't find any reference to "Central China" in either Steiner or Scotts. What province or local would this be?

Wow, you folks are good. I should have located the 16 & 2.00 stamps, but I never would have found that the "10 & 30" stamps were war time savings issues.

Well, that leaves the 50 stamp......

Thanks all!

For the 50c I find that the base stamp is Scott 396 Type III perf 14 with WMK 261.That
would put it in North China (Japanese Occupation) Scott 8N27.

Here is a block of my last "unknown" China stamp. It looks like an occupation stamp, possibly "north China", but I can't locate it in my reference books. Can you help?

Perf12,
I do believe you are correct, although I can't see a watermark. Usually the Chinese watermarks are very pronounced (I use "clarity"). And of course neither Steiners or Scotts show the lower line of characters.

That block of 4 of the 50c. has a North China Half Value Surcharge ,due to the depreciation of currency, the postal rates were doubled .This was ordered by the puppet Central China Government. That stamp is from the fourth series and is overprinted on the Dr. Sun ,series 4,unwmkd .

Thank you all for the help and insight! I put off cataloging (applying to Steiner pages) for a number of years due to the variations, but now I'm right in the middle of it - and kind of funny that I enjoy it so much.
