Just found this one in a box of stamps I got yesterday its lucky to be still a pair its just holding on by two perfs

Why does the cancellation on the right stamp abruptly disappear when it comes to the left stamp?

This may be a homemade item, in my opinion.

They couldn't even get the perf holes lined up before they stuck them back together to create this. Let alone the cancellations as Bob mentioned and everyone sees.

I just had a closer examination and it appears to be a fake or homemade job (beginners mistake) the watermark is opposite to one the other one so it has been stuck upside down to look like the Tete Beche Pair

For what it is worth, it is also not from the 1926 set. Notice that there is a hyphen between SUID and AFRIKA. That is not there on the earlier issue. This design change came about around the 1933 time frame.
