Hi guys, on to another post..I know pre 1940 stamps better than post 1940 stamps...Is this a Scott 756a or a Scott 756i..Thanks for any input.

Robert, if memory serves me right the 14 and 30c were tagged on sheet. The high value $1.25 were not tagged. A normal 756 would be a regular from sheet format. So the souvenir sheet would be a 756a. The 756i is a 1.25 a single removed from the souvenir sheet.

A confusing way to list this.

756a is the souvenir sheet that only comes one way as far as I know. 756i is the untagged stamp that only comes from the souvenir sheet; the normal sheet stamp is tagged. So you have both in reality.

Yes Robert, they printed the 756 in sheet format just like the 12, 14 and 30c issues.

Unitrade 756i (untagged) appears to be the most valuable stamp in the Scott 756a souvenir sheet since it can only be found in the souvenir sheet and it is different than Scott 756 (tagged) which is found only in sheets.
