When I purchase something on ebay in the past ,I could charge it to my balance at PAYPAL . It would be a debit to my Paypal account . Now Paypal goes into my bank and charges my bank account and pays for it . Did I miss something ? Is there a way to tell PAYPAL to charge my floating balance at Paypal and not charge my bank account ,note there is enough at Paypal to pay for it,these are small purchases no reason to go to the bank account . Did I hit some command button at my account page on PAYPAL ?

My Paypal automatically does that, and I am happy with that. I do notice, though, it always gives me an option before payment, from which account I prefer, paypal balance or Bank account. I have to tick my preferred box.

I'd give them a ring. "Paypal balance" usually comes at the top of the list of options. I found them very good when I needed to call them.
Edit: is it possible that you've received a new back up card to your bank account (i.e. your credit card), and haven't uploaded the new details? |

Had pay pal set to take fund out of pay pal only but my bank account kept getting the funds taken out of it. Really created some big issue with my bank. My bank dealt directly with pay pal over the issue and my bank funds penalties were refunded and guess what no more issues.
After that I was never game to go into the neg with pay pal.
Pay pal is constantly offering me pre-approved loans of $6,000 but can not trust them after.... Plus we are not debt people here. Not even for a mobile. |

Quote: Rod ---I do not have PAYPAL balance ? Floortrader, that would be Paypal Wallet. John Quote: Pay pal is constantly offering me pre-approved loans of $6,000 Interesting, what interest rate are they charging, any idea?Yikes ! The Annual Percentage Rate for your PayPal Credit account is 19.9% per annum variable. This is your standard rate of interest. My credit card (when / if I use it) is 7.25% if I recall. Update: It has risen..now 8.99 % |

Floortrader, If I have funds in my Paypal wallet, that becomes the default payer.
If not, I am given a choice: "How would you like to pay?" 1. Savings (My usual) 2. Mastercard credit (never used)
Give them a ring as Geoff suggested, I have found them also prompt and obliging. Big fan of Paypal.

Hope you get sorted floortrader.
Rod Thanks for the interest rate on the paypal loan. Frightening to say the least!
With a paypal loan they auto take out a set % of what goes into your paypal account per every transaction until paid back in full. |

Paypal has 2 credit options; 1 Paypal Credit is the one that is offered as a Payment Option and they always offer me 6 months to pay and I make payments when convenient. 2. Paypal working Credit offers larger loans and the cost and the amount offered depends on your ebay sales. You choose a payment % ir 205, 25%, or 30% and that amount is taken from each Paypal receipt. |
