Simple wooden figure of Our Lady in an old, now dead oak, west of the city, located on a forest above the castle. The path to the Black Picture accompany seven neo-Gothic station pictures from 1894, which show in large reliefs the Seven Sorrows of Mary.

Above the castle complex towards the wind farm is the pilgrimage site of the Neuerburger citizenship. The 46cm large Madonna - replica of the Alt?ttinger Madonna from the 17th century. Donated by Kuno von Falkenstein stands in a 700-year-old oak tree. Age and candle smoke have the statue of the Madonna dark brown, almost black. Stationary images of the Seven Sorrows of Mary created by sculptor J. Hess in the 19th century. lead to this sanctuary.

Here is an example of an old (ca. 1920s or 30s) "Kurabgabe" or spa tax stamp from the city of Boppard. Boppard's promotional slogan, as seen on its stamp cancels, has long been "the pearl of the Rhine".

Regarding current spa taxes (tourist taxes) in Germany, 'destination expert' user 'abalada' of www.tripadvsor.com says, "charged only by typical tourist resorts. Spa towns, Alpine, or coastal resorts. You receive for this a Kurkarte (guest card) which gives you discounts and in a number of places also free ride on town buses.
