Someone in the past did grievous harm to this postcard, but it still has a charming image. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Charming indeed!
Like some view the Mona Lisa, I'm drawn to Molly's face, wondering what she's thinking. She has a slight smile, but seems uneasy. She appears to be making a fist with her left hand. |

I should have posted this on World Postcards, but didn't notice that category in time. It was mailed to Kilbeheny Ireland, and is of obviously UK manufacture. I'm taken by the (anticipatory?) expression on the fellow's face. |

She is concealing a knife in her left hand...which explains the blood only a few inches away on the man's shirt. The shocked look on the man's face tells the story. Well timed by the woman and photographer. EdziuMM, when was this printed? |

Alas, whoever chopped off the end of this card may have removed a postmark and/or date. Looks like late 19th-early 20th Century. On the message side is an interesting printed injunction from the manufacturer: "This space may be used for communication Inland and to all Foreign Countries except Japan, Spain and United States." |

That seems to be quite a risque' card for the time. It's fascinating in content as well as the description on who it can NOT be mailed to. Interesting. |

Molly dear now did you hear The news that's going round Down in a corner of my heart A love is what you've found And every time I gaze into your Irish eyes so blue They seem to whisper "Darling boy, my love is all for you"
Oh, Molly, my Irish Molly, my sweet achusla dear I'm fairly off my trolley, my Irish Molly when you are near Springtime you know is ring time, come dear now don't be slow Change your name, go out with game, Begorrah wouldn't I do the same My Irish Molly O
Molly dear now did you hear I furnished up the flat Three little cozy rooms with bath and "welcome" on the mat It's five pounds down and two a week, we'll soon be out of debt It's all complete except they haven't brought the cradle yet Oh, Molly, my Irish Molly, my sweet achusla dear I'm fairly off my trolley, my Irish Molly when you are near Springtime you know is ring time, come dear now don't be slow
Change your name, go out with game, Begorrah wouldn't I do the same my Irish Molly O Molly dear and did you hear what all the neighbors say About the hundred sovereigns you have safely stowed away They say that's why I love you, Ah but Molly that's a shame If you had only ninety-nine, I'd love you just the same
