Cancellation Question

I have a used Scott #26. It has a nice black cancellation that's date stamped May 18 (I can barely see the top of the 8, so it could be a 3 or a 9, but not pertinent to my question I believe). The town is in bold black letters and is a partial that shows "RIGGS." Cannot see any partial lettering either before or after the visible cancel. Can anyone hazard a guess as to which town the cancellation is from?

Before anyone asks, and I know they would, no I can't post a picture. Sorry. Too lazy to learn. (That from a retired schoolteacher too.)

I just googled Briggs. Eight towns in the U.S. I guess I have to ask which town is most likely.

Jim Forte's post office list has 62 hits for "riggs", although many are not in-period. So without an image, it is a crap-shoot guess for any of us. If you want a quality answer, find a neighborhood kid to make a scan for you.

If you can't help us, we can't help you. Or perhaps we should plead laziness, too.

I will tell you that looking up towns that currently exist does not help that much historically. Briggs, Arizona could not exist in the US postal system in the expected period of use of a #26, for example. Post offices could change change names, open and disappear over even a short period of time. Bracketing the expected period of use, the 1854 and 1873 official post office directories I found online do not have a town exactly named Briggs.

Help is very unlikely without a pic or scan.
