Can anyone help me identify this stamp and have a guess as to its catalog value?

Thanks

It is a revenue very similar to US documentary stamps. It was used to pay the tax on receipts at the rate of 10 centavos per peso. It is a common stamp for the period and is part of a set of stamps of various colors and rates. I collect them mostly on document.

It's a fiscal stamp issued by the Filipino Revolutionary Government in 1899.

This will not be found in a standard Scott Catalogue. You need a Scott US Specialized catalogue!

I don't see this stamp in my old 2007 Scott Specialized (or indeed any Philippines revenues).

However, it is in the very old 1915 Forbin catalogue (priced at 25 centimes).

I always thought that this was the only KKK revenue stamp but I was intrigued to see two others listed in Forbin:

- 2p carmine "POLIZAS" (unpriced)

- brown-red "TRANS DE GANADOS" (no face value) (priced at 3 francs)

Does anyone have any information on these two or have scans they could share?

Thank you very much indeed vayolene!

This appears to be a superb resource with nice images of the TRANS DE GANADOS stamp.

I've had a quick glance through some of the other pages and was amazed at what was there.

The Bohol local issue and the early stamped revenue paper were also completely new to me.
