I've been lurking for a bit, just to get a feel of the forum, so I figure it's time to introduce myself.
US, Ducks and Canda are my primary collecting interest, but I've branched out and am now exclusively focusing on Kentucky, Confederate postal history - a somewhat lonely journey.
I'm going to spend tonight searching for the best way to remove gum from several of my mint Confederate singles as the gum has the potential to damage certain issues.

Don - the gum removal thought was originally advanced by Trish Kaufmann in a special feature to the 2019 Scott US Specialized catalogue. I've given the thought careful consideration especially in light of Scott's decision to assign mint and used Confederate issues with the same value for certain issues. It is only those issues where I would remove the gum in order to preserve the stamp. I'm not going to remove any stamp from a cover.
