Hi everyone; My Dad and I used to collect back in the 60s. He left around 75 so I quit then and sold my collection. I always had the used and he had the mint.
So he recently passed away and I got his collection and am interested in starting up where he left off. All USA going all the way back until 1971. So I want to continue from there so I need an album that starts there or need pages. He has a Scott album but it ends at 1971. He also has a nice Kennedy album and I may try to complete that.
Just really don't know where to begin and where to get supplies, album pages and of course, stamps. The first thing I'm gonna do is secure all the stamps that have fallen out, most are still in the mounts.
He also had quite a few Postal cards dating back to 1917. I'd be interested in trading those for stamps but I don't know if anyone has an interest in those.
Also there are some collector books that they sell at the post office and a Readers Digest book of first-day covers. Not sure if these are valued by collectors as they were not fetching much on ebay.
Anyway, any suggestions on how to get started would be helpful.

Eb

Welcome to the group EB. And welcome back to the world of stamp collecting.
Here's something for you to consider: Since you would need a lot of yearly supplements to get you
up to date from 1971, it might be cheaper to just get a new album and use all the pages from 1971 on.

Welcome! There are many collectors on here, myself included, who returned to the hobby later in life.
