Dianne-
Your pages are proof that extra time and care in mounting pay off in the finished product. Very nicely done.

That's great Dianne! It is very nice to see things all arranged and in order. Nice reference and learning for us who are still accumulating and haven't reached the putting in albums stage as of yet. As to heavily cancelled: I have taken a liking to cancels, the more cancelled the better. The socked on the nose cancels are best. All the info is right there. I did start out just liking stamps that didn't have a heavy cancel of any sort but now I appreciate the dated cancels and the roller cancels with a name in them. All collectible, all nice to me. I even look at partial cancels now to see if I can figure out what it could be. But I can appreciate a stamp with a design that is not covered up by a cancel also. Maybe I should have one of each. Oh no! |

Oh, its way worse than that! You might fool yourself into thinking that you could print off two copies of the same page, putting unused on one and used on the other... But when the time comes to mount 'em up, you're going to have socked-on-the-nose cancels from several different cities on the same Germania issue, and no way to choose your favorite among them. I've resigned myself to custom pages, and I hope that sometime down the road I'll have the time to create them. For now, stock pages will have to do. Collin |

Cjd, Stock pages are my friend, yes.
Dianne, do you use stock pages at all? To sort things out or store extra stamps in?

Thanks a lot guys. Butch I print my own pages using stampalbums.com. It costs $30.00 year to join and I have access to all countries. Puzzler I have a few stock books. But my favorite way to organize stamps as I sort them is in #2 glassines which I place in order by scott's # in small boxes that I buy at the dollar store. This works very well for the countries that I have lots of stamps for. For the smaller countries or the countries that I have fewer stamps for I organize them in the stock book. As for my collection they all get mounted into albums that I make up myself. Dianne |

Quote: ugly hole You're so funny, Bob. When I looked at that scan, I thought to myself, "Oh Lord, that hole would keep me awake at night!" I started to post a comment to Dianne, but then I figured no one else on SCF would be as anal-retentive as me Kirk |

Thanks for sharing...very nice! I flipped through my Specialty album and saw a few more holes than yours in my early Germany collection...
I like the Steiner page layout, plus you can edit the pages to add boxes if you like (of course that works best when not adding minor variation after the pages have been printd w/o the modification.
Are you also collecting the broader German issues for colonies, occupations, DDR and states: Allenstein, Baden, Bavaria, Bergedorf, Bremen, Brunswick, etc?
