Just glancing through the latest issue of London Philatelist, I noticed an advert from Spink that a block of 4 Inverted Jenny (positions 45-46, 55-56) is going to be put up for sale on 27th September in NY. To quote: Offered at a modest opening bid of $1,000,000.00; estimate $2M-$3M"
Now where did I put my wallet...?

If it was not for the 20% (plus VAT ?) or so buyers premium I may have been tempted. OH well.
I wounder if they did a discount on the sellers premium |

Apparently there is a single Inverted Jenny as well in this sale, so if you can't afford the block you can still buy bragging rights. Don't know what the reserve will be. |
