Hello all Stamp masters,

I have a question on a stamp I saw for sale that got me wondering.
I read online that Franz Pfenninger is a reputable Stamp Expert.
Stamps that bear his signature usually sell for a premium.

But the following stamp has a problem: The "Pfenninger" signature stamp on the back was probably overinked and has "bled through" to the front, making it look almost like a cancellation on an otherwise mint Stamp.

Does this affect the value? Or is it irrelevant since this is ffrom Pfenninger?

If I was looking for this stamp for my collection, I would pass on that example. To me, it's damaged.

Fake signature. This "signature" reads from bottom to top; a genuine signature would read from top to bottom.

Interesting take!
Are these examples specific to Pfenninger?

This site (https://briefmarken-pruefer.de/de/b...-lassen.html )
says that the standardization of placing signatures was introduced during Heinrich Köhlers time.
Are you sure Pfenninger was not before Köhler?
I also read that Pfenninger himself never used the "BPP" ending because it was introduced shortly before he passed.
