Scott 37 - Perf K65 X K64? Common Perforation (12.2 X 12.4)?

Hi all

Here is today's oddity. I really appreciate the experts taking the time to help me learn the hobby. As I sort through several hundred 37/41's, I notice stamps that just don't seem to fit the mold. Perfs are my current albatross...

The attached image is 1200 dpi. I have checks using the gauge, and digitally - they both show 12.2 x 12.4, which seems very close to K65 x K64 (12.18 x 12.38).

The paper is horizontal, ribbed/wove, so that would possibly indicate a 37? There is no apparent PD (possibly one at 3 o'clock in the border?)

The size of the oval seems to be within limits for other stamps I have measured, so it shouldn't be a paper deformation issue.

Is this a normal perforation for a 37/41 (which I assume this to be)?

Did you get 12.18 (12.2) x 12.38 (12.4) while the closest Kiusalas is K65 (12.1) x K64 (12.3)?

I did some screen captures from the GIMP program - these are the perf measurements:

Left side: 9 perfs = 14.56 mm (approx perf 12.36)



Top: 9 perfs = 14.77 mm (approx perf 12.18)

199 holes = 12.37 perfs. x 196 holes = 12.19 perfs.

With your perf experience, is this an uncommon measurement? I haven't seen it within any of the BNAPS articles I have read...

When classifying the stamp, is this considered a 12x12.5, 12.25x12.5?

It does not look like it is a common SQ perforation gauging.
I am not sure how catalogs would list it as by rounding it off.
