Iraq Collection 1920-S Mainly Precancels?

I just rushed in and bought them! 5 minutes ago.And after only being here for what? say? maybe a week? What am I doing! Iv taken to the cancels and the precancels and these are interesting a little too political to be saying whats on a couple of them but imho im just here for the cancels! theres also 'in state service' on a lot of them im loving them! Havent got them home yet! will put up pics from post and when I get them I will capture them properly!

Come now, that appears to be a fair price for both sides. Nice range of issues.

As for precancels, if you possibly mean the ON STATE SERVICE overprints, those are officials for governmental office use, considered different from stamps sold to the general public.

Iraq has no recognized precancels.

Well done. The Iraqi engraved issues - to the late-1950s - are beautiful stamps. The grim history of the last hundred years is always well worth reading up on.

thanks geoff I seem to be developing a strong world conflict theme going on.( somebody please stop me.. I just bought 2/3 commonwealth victory set but some other chap got in the last 3 seconds and outbid me for the final 42 boohoo).
There is a lot of information on that link there rod..And a few unaswered avenues I can venture finding out about this part of iraqs tumultuous time... Yes some of the overprints are interesting. I cant wait till they are home!. Il let you know if I find out anymore! and vice versa please.i have a few 1945 hungary pengos as well the 1946 victorys. I really like the presentation too. I am going to need a short sharp lesson on how to maintain these precious historical jewels..
