I have been looking for a Scott 122 with a red cancel and found one on the Posner website. I also did a quick search on HipStamp and the exact same stamp, cert and all, is listed by Lang. I have asked Posner what the story is but am still awaiting a response. Does anybody know what the relationship is between the two? For my own reasons I do not wish to deal with Lang if I can help it not to mention that he is asking hundreds of dollars more for the stamp than Posner. Here are the listings:

This has a simple explanation. As an experienced buyer, I comb the websites, auctions, and trade shows to competitively find undervalued philatelic opportunities. This practice has occurred since the first stamp shops, stamp shows and stamp auctions... now, of course, on the web... All that occurred here is that I was able to purchase the 122 with red cancel just prior to you noticing it... The same can occur at any stamp show or any public auction where we might be bidding against each other on a level playing field. You are obviously astute and skilled enough on valuation to notice that that 122 was undervalued based on the color cancel... next time, you might beat me to the next bargain...

Regards,

Bill

Thank you for the explanation Bill. Much appreciated. I thought that the price was right at the $2100 given the centering which is not VF-XF or XF in my eyes even for that issue. All subjective of course. I guess that I will keep looking.
