This is a really old Germany stamp collection, I would like to know the value of the whole book? Any ideas?

Looks like a nice collection, though likely not as old as you think. Those stock books are fairly modern, though the stamps themselves are old enough. :)
Several hundred dollars at least, not several thousand dollars though.

I'd sell it by country ie Bavaria, Danzig, German States and I'd expect to get about $300 for the whole thing. This means a dealer would offer about $150.

Forgive me my ignorance, but when I go here https://www.stampworld.com/en/stamps/Baden/ I see some stamps alone being worth some 10s and even some 100s. Shouldn't the price be higher? Asking out of my ignorance because I don't understand much.

Does the catalog value actually count for anything or are they just farytails?

As a crude guide, 10-20% of CV is what I'd usually pay for decent stamps when buying from an auction house - less for common stuff, more for scarcer. What you achieve on ebay may also be affected by your track record there - some ebayers can be fairly unimaginative and stick to larger sellers.

If you have these stamps in front of you with a Michel catalog;you will have to go through every stamp (bavaria for instance) and check for watermark and paper types. The same 50c stamp can also be worth $50.
I know from my experience that just a pic of a lot can hide many things.

You may want to visit a stamp club for advice. Look one up in your area or if willing to give your general location members here can advise.

$ 150 is a really good price, these are all popular stamps. This does not look like a collection but like a set prepared for sale

I can't comment on Stampworld but the catalog value in Michel (the standard catalog for German material) is based on stamps in excellent condition and no defects. Your Baden stamps are cut into the design on one or more sides. This results in a substantial reduction in the value compared to the catalog value - 75%-90%. These Baden stamps were printed so closely together that having a 4 margin copy is a scarce item.

It appears to be a German States & Colonies remainder lot. Attractive beginner lot for someone. German material currently sells for very small percentages of catalogue values. At first glance, nOthing jumps out at me as being uncommon/scarce. US$150 is a reasonable purchase price for a collector.

Here is a German lot up for sale on ebay now. Not identical to yours, but perhaps you can get a feel for pricing

This formula is useless if p=a or q=b, which we all know happens more and more these days. So then what?

edit: responding to OP, I would have estimated the whole thing at around $500. At least that's what I would have paid if I didn't have them already.
