My personal guess would be the 1873 reprint(thin flat paper, white backside).

catalogue value per stamp circa 20 us dollar.

Nice reference piece

So I ended up getting this piece for $41.

Would you say that is a good price for this? Or too much?

Probably a question to ask before purchasing? $41 isn't a ton of money so it all depends on whether or not you're happy with the purchase. For certain pieces I want I have zero issue paying more than I probably should.
