1997 Cocos $1 Stamp Faint Print At Bottom

Hello all,

I have this $1 Cocos Island stamp and am finding snippets of information that there is a "faint print at bottom" variety. Not being any kind of expert and having only one copy, I was hoping someone her could tell me how I could determine whether this is a normal or a weak print variety Pic included). if I completely tone down the light I can get a copy that shows the bottom printing but what is shown is what I see under normal conditions. That's one stamp I do not have in my collection

generally speaking, any problems met with regarding colour IN A USED STAMP, is problematic, it can be damaged by all sorts of conditions.
It mostly depends on how the stamp was removed from the cover and stored.

Yours appears to have been damaged by either light exposure or chemicals.

Issued 1997. It is normal for the bottom of the $1 Bluestripe Snapper to be faint.

Thanks Rob for your input. I was just surfing around in E-Bay and came across someone who was sell the $1 issue as a "scarce item" that had a faint bottom print. The person had it up for $300.00 AUS. so I just assumed that the faint variety was different than the regular issue. Thanks all again for your input.
