From what I can see on this South Australian stamp, it was canceled in "RED ADELAIDE." Was there really such a place? Or is the "RED" the ending of some other word? My thanks in advance for any help with this.
Based on S.A. being at the bottom, we should expect the top inscription to be balanced above it, at least in this time period. So maybe 6-8 letters are not seen at the left. My guess is that it reads (REGISTE)RED ADELAIDE. Looking for an example online.
