Rod: I am always interested in K.G.V information & especially penny reds. Can never know enough. Thanks for the offer.
As a child till now I have always loved roos. Tried collecting them for a while but the cost was limiting so changed to K.G.Vs. They are great. So many variations & they are still affordable. |

I wanted to post my own chart with arrows to the flyspecks, but it somehow abused the forum etiquette, I don't know why so I guess we will have to do without it for now, until I go elsewhere on the net to find out how to layer images.

Very nice KGV, worth mentioning the thick double lines {"Jubilee lines") indicate the centre gutter, and are there to give rigidity to the printing plate. Or at least, that is how I understand it. |

Yep, KGV, if you are ever experiencing melancholy, log on here and read Kirk, He'll soon have you chuckling. I have a list of Aboriginal placenames somewhere, I must check out what the suffix "unda" refers to, "near water" or something similar. |

Yes please I can not think of anywhere that ends in unda. The boss is in bed and my 1 finger typing is going to be laughed at. Seems to be the only way I can get the family to roll around the floor. So ends my 15 minuets of typing. |

There's an article about Aboriginal Place Names in Wikipedia, but I didn't see any UNDAs listed. Edit/Addition: Kalamunda is derived from two Noongar (an Indigenous Australian language) words: kala meaning "home" and munda meaning "forest", hence spawning the Shire's motto "A home in the forest". |

Great link Kirk. Thanks.
A question. The town of Kuranda in Queensland. That is not on the list. Does anyone know if that is an Aboriginal name? |

Almost invariably Puzzler, there still remains an aboriginal village at Kuranda. There is no exhaustive site for names in Australia as yet, probably die to the vast language dialects, I can supply meanings of every town in Western Australia but not Queensland. And Kirk, I live very near Kalamunda in Perth, Kalamunda is up in the hills,or scarp overlooking the City. Interestingly, I have sheet of Australia's Penny Black issued by the Aboriginal Post. |
