Hello from Trench Town;
If two plate blocks each have the same plate block number; does one of them have to be a fake?

No, the plates were used to print millions of stamps. The numbers were not meant to be like a serial number used to ID the sheets of stamps. Instead, they identified the printing plates.

All stamps printed by that plate number will carry the plate number. So many blocks with same plate number can exist.

Also, plate numbers can appear on different corners of the sheet. Some ccllectors go after all possible locations

You can verify what sheetguy2mentions by using this tool to lookup any plate number and have it return the catalog numbers which use it that number.

Click on 'Search by Plate Number' and then type in the number 2 and click on 'Search' Note that it returns many pages of stamps because the number 2 was used on 100+ different stamps.
