I would like feedback on whether this is reprint or not. I am very new to stamp collecting and would like help with condition of this stamp and value as well. It is very pale and hard to make out with out magnification. Is this common for this stamp? Thank you.

This is probably the 1862 issue, with a finer print than the 1859 stamp. The two 1862 stamps have no watermark, as with the stamp here.

What are you showing in the second scan? Is it paper backing that was removed for the scan in fluid?

Reprints exist of this, stated to have no gum and in a brighter color. This is more yellow than the yellow orange/orange yellow it usually is, so I would think this is a reprint.

In any case, the mint stamp is not particularly expensive. Being quite faulty (corner crease, small tear at right, staining), unfortunately this is worth about a dollar or so if genuine.
