As a collector who has quite a few unused stamps hanging around that I already have copies of in my albums, I was embarrassed when my thoughtful daughter came up with a wonderful idea for all of us in a holiday gift-giving mood that I had completed overlooked. Besides providing home-cooked meals to their clients, one of our local charities also works hard at giving them small personal items like soap, shampoo, socks, etc. Just little things to make their lives a bit easier and enjoyable in their senior years. Anyhow, my daughter, who routinely refers my extensive US collection as "postage", came up with a terrific idea of what do you with all my extra "postage." She and my wife paired up ten to twelve stamps and attached them to a box of Christmas cards so that some of these elderly folks can mail a few Christmas greetings to their families and friends. If you've a mind to, see if your local "Meals On Wheels" or other charities accepts donations such as this one. I personally think this is a terrific thing to do. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy Hanukkah to all!
