I finally found a copy of this book; perhaps the Holy Grail for Newspaper & Periodical collectors.

About four years ago, when I began looking for a copy, I found Mr Whitesell's address in Rhode Island. I wrote to him franking the letter with U.S. newspaper and newspaper boy commemoratives. Never heard back:

Congrats for finally getting the thing. I know how you feel, not getting a response and not knowing why. Perhaps he was too busy compiling Part II: A Compilation of Articles from the Future.

Wow. Lived in Success, Arkansas until 1953. I was born in Success in 1954.
And it's not like it was a big town. About a couple hundred residents back then.
With that few people I'm sure my relatives knew of him.
