This 32c stamp (Sc #3183L) of the USA is from the February 3, 1998 "Celebrate the Century - The 1910's" sheet of 15 different designs. Stamp shows a person working on a crossword puzzle...with a pencil, of course. Imprint on back of stamp states, "Newspaperman Arthur Wynne created the first crossword puzzle. It appeared in the New York World on Sunday, December 21, 1913."  |
