A stamp featuring the sun as a natural source of energy. Portugal 1976; Solar panels were still in the developmental stage way back then, now they can be used even in Greenland!

And here is a stamp issued by Greenland for those solar panels. They would be most effective, for example for loading batteries, in the summer when the sun shines in Greenland most of the day. Artwork by Miki Jacobsen.

Happen to see an introduction on a Sino-Argentina solar power project when watching a documentary film titled : Charming Argentina - the Sun of May. The cooperation project is said to take advantage of the abundant local sunshine resources and solve the province's power shortage, and even enable them to provide surplus power to other parts of the country! Our ancestors are really wise to worship the Sun!

Celebrating 25 years of the independent constitution (Grundloven) of Greenland. Considering that we are looking toward the sun and the craggy mountains are in the east, it must be the rising sun.

The sunrise of Taishan Mountain is perhaps the most famouse sunrise scenery in China. I never notice it on the banknote until recently thanks to this thread! It's really good design. How wonderful! I can find and enjoy some sunshine when using money next time! :-)



There is a protruding rock at the peek, which is regarded as the best place to watch the sun and the sea of clouds. I used to be there, but much more crowded than in this scene from a classic TV series: The Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea!

I have received a postcard from a pc friend recently, which turns out to be a Japanese anim film hit: Weathering with You. At first I just saw the card as a praying girl, but unexpectedly it is kinda about the sun. The heroin girl - Hina- has a magic power to change the rainy weather to sunny day. She and her boyfriend started a business to take requests from people to fulfill their all kinds of demands for sunshines. But later on they find out that the use of magic every time weakened the girl. At last Hina decided to sacrafice herself to correct the weather problem for the people, but he boyfriend managed to save her life from dying but leaving the world remaining in the tragic weather, which becomes a quite controversial ending among the viewers.
