Indeed the "Sun Stone" or Aztec calendar stone is a wonderful addition to a sun thread. The Mexican stamp of 1973 is not the only one featuring the sculpture, other countries have shown it, for example for the Olympic games. The stone is huge, about 3.5 meters high and over a meter thick; it is now in the National Museum of Anthropology.  |

I deleted some big scan software and the default camera software is not very clear when it draws close to the stamp, so I took a bigger view of the stamp souvenir, which is bought by my father when he went to Mexio as a visiting scholar when I was a kid. So I always wanted to know some more details on those stamps, thanks a lot for the info! |

This is the older stamp showing the "Sun Stone" with a young woman in traditional costume in front. Obviously the relative size of the stone is not accurate. Airmail stamp of 1934  |

Aruba commemorated the total eclipse of the sun in 1998 on a stamp. This eclipse occurred on February 26, and the weather was good for seeing the phenomenon.  |
