I have a 2 cent Washington I believe to be a 528a. There is an odd feature that I noticed in the N of Cents. Has anyone come across this oddity before?
There are lots of plate varieties with these offset printings. French lists this as 528B variety # 123 in his "Encyclopedia of Plate Varieties on U.S. Bureau-Printed Postage Stamps" as a "diagonal line in N of CENTS. Dot in t(op) gutter over E of POSTAGE.", although his tracing isn't as good as the Bureau Specialist article of 12/1948. I recall another thread about this same variety some time ago.
