Dear Folks:

October I ordered Lighthouse Hingeless Federal Duck Stamp pages and Santa, like me, forgot 'em. I'm hoping you can guide me and Santa to a good solution for 2020.

I wanted this item for my brother, who houses his collection in Scott Platinum 13 ring albums. Will the Lighthouse pages fit? Or do I need to buy a Lighthouse Album. (I was thinking of the Lighthouse "Classic Excellent DE" album if I did this.)

If I buy the Lighthouse album my brother ends up with an album with very few pages in it. So, since he has expressed interest in collecting Hawaii, I thought I'd buy Hawaii hingeless pages, to fill it out. But Lighthouse doesn't seem to make Hawaii hingeless pages.

I've cast about the internet but haven't come up with a "That's it!" solution. I would consider another brand, like Davo. And my brother only wants Hawaii, no other US possessions.

So I'm asking for suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

Burnside

Lighthouse pages won't fit other ring-type albums - you could put the Lighthouse and Scott pages in a springback album, but it would look odd unless, by a bizarre coincidence, the leaves were the same size. You could use Lighthouse blank pages for the Hawaii.

Palo also makes hingeless pages for duck stamps (all Scott-listed back of book actually) so those would fit the same binder as the Hawaii hingeless pages rogdcam linked above.

Thanks GeoffHa, rogdcam, and revenuecollector for your input. I thought I'd post about the outcome to close the story.

I looked at the Palo Hawaii and Duck Stamp pages and album and decided to go that route because it ticked all my boxes. But, since I had placed a "firm" order with my supplier, including follow up calls (nagging), I thought I had better call and officially cancel my order.

Well, good thing, as they said they had placed my order in the post that very day and that my CC had been charged. Lighthouse had been the hang up, they said. And to make things right, they were giving me the lowest sale price of the year and were waiving shipping and handling charges.

Since I liked the appearance of the Lighthouse pages better, I'm calling it even steven and now await delivery. Hawaii will just have to wait and Santa visits my brother January--got hung up over the pacific islands.

Thanks again to all who made suggestions.

Burnside

I am looking for a single Scott Platinum 13 ring album if he has an empty one.

Don't need any pages - just the album.

Prefer blue but at this point don't care which color it is.

Just in case

Sorry StateRevs, no have got.

They do come up on ebay from time to time, although it seems people are asking a lot more for them now as compared to a few years back.

If I spot one at a cheap price I'll post it up for you here--it's gonna be awhile for me to get to 50 posts, the threshold for messaging.

Burnside,

Thanks - had to at least ask!

Yes - they are available every now and then on ebay but the prices are a little crazy!

Thankfully mine is a "want" and not a "need" so I am not backed into a corner to have to pay the current prices.

Hey, staterevs, and anyone else looking for Scott Platinum 13 ring binders.

There are three auctions ending today on ebay for "like new" Scott Platinum albums with pages, no stamps, being sold by "stmpdlr(18592)" out of Alamo, CA.

Currently, with 8 hours to go, the bid price ranges from $45 to $52, but who knows what will happen with bid sniping. Gotta love that!

A search for "Scott Platinum Hingeless" will put these three auctions top of list.

Good luck.
