I received this cover in the mail (from the UK) today (January 2, 2020) to add to my World War I machine slogan collection. As I was entering it into my Bento database, I noticed the exact date of the cancel: January 2, 1920, 100 years ago today. What a coincidence!

Themselves, sport. Angela Thirkell's Trooper to the Southern Cross is a good comic novel about the return of the diggers.

Seriously ?!@#$%?

Buy this bond or we'll leave your kid in Belgium !

Well, I 'spose it is better than the post-WW2 Canadian campaign:

Buy this bond or we'll leave that Luftwaffe POW on your farm !

Cheers,

/s/ ikeyPikey

Glenn,
I am open to correction, but I believe that is a roller slogan cancel, usually reserved for parcels, newspapers etc.
Not really a "machine" roller cancel per se. Hmmm correction.

Exotic stamp use. Presumably sent to a collector?

Similar Slogans of Western Australia and dates of use.
None identical to the Melbourne impression.
