Dear all, I'm originally from Brazil and recently moved to Calgary, Canada.

Since I starting a new life here, with my wife, I had to leave my collection (Italy, Vatican City, San Marino, 3th Reich and Butterflies) in my parents' home.

I would like to continue to collect so I consider to start to collect stamps from Canada. However, I'm not so sure about that yet. Continue my old collection from here, in my opinion, is not an option since I dont have total control of what I have without the collection itself to check.

I would like your opinion, in my situation, what would you do? Start a new collection of Canada for example or what?

Any comment will be very appreciated.
Thank you all.

Duplicates are not the end of the world. Your original obviously means a lot to you. So collect what you want and if by some chance you get your collection back with the new one you start and find duplicate stamps, so what. Count your blessings and collect what will put a smile on your face!

Welcome to Calgary sir! I too am in Calgary. Well my business is here but I moved outside the city a bit a few years ago but still am in almost daily.

Canada is a great country to collect if you are wanting to try a new line, and the stamp research will take you down the road of our history which is great for learning about your new home! I have a bunch of extra stamps in my collection from throughout the eras if I would happy to give you as a gift if you ever would like a start both modern and early...

Bob

Hi wannahocalugie, thank you. Yes, I though about this but I gave up because my Italian and Vatican City is very advanced but of course if I come across some stamps of these countries I`ll keep them.

Is it not possible to relocate your previous collection to Canada as well?

Hi Dale, I would love to bring everything to here. However to send via mail would be very expensive and at the moment I cant afford it. I have my collection in a plastic box of about 10-15Kg.

In the future I`ll bring my collection for sure.

Thanks.

FREE CANADIAN ALBUM PAGES

Superb Canada Classic album in full colour produced by William (Bill) Weston of Calgary, Alberta.

This postage stamp album contains all Canadian Postage stamps issued prior to 1973, including many varieties. The album is ordered in accordance with Scott, but due to copyright issues does not include the catalogue numbers.

To cater to the specialist collector this album concludes with a massive 65 page section covering the Centennial Definitive Series. Those collectors not requiring this level of detail can simply ignore these pages when printing.

Note: Due to the full colour illustrations included in this album, it is a large download. If the individual collector would prefer an album with grey scale images, this can easily be accommodated at print time by choosing the appropriate setting in the printer configuration dialogue box.

Available as a free download from http://www.thestampweb.com/albums.html. Scroll down until you come to the description.

You can download the finished pages as a pdf and print them. If you also download the free AlbumEasy software, you can also download the text file for the pages and make any changes you desire before printing the final page(s).

Hi Bob, thank you for all information.

I`m pretty familiar with the AlbumEasy. I've been using it and helping Clive in the development of some features.

I`m going to check the mentioned references and would be great to get contact with Mr. William Weston.

Thanks again.
