Hello,

What are the square holes in the single stamp? Which would be the value of this stamp?

And the value for the 4-block?

I ask because I don't collect them and I want to exchange them for others more interesting to me.

Thanks in advance :-)

The first stamp with the square holes has a private perforation, called Shermack perforation

Depending on whether there is a watermark, they are either a scott 408 or 481 and not uncommon. They do not look like 531 offset. Can you watermark them?

A Schermack type 3 perf single of either the 408 or 481 in used condition, with poor centering will not be worth more than a couple US $.

With the block of 4, the value would depend on the condition of the verso. Is the piece original gum and unhinged, or what? Once you determine if there is or is not a watermark, then you might use the Stampsmarter site to figure out if it is a 408 or 481 and then you could check on ebay to see what such things run, in the condition you have. http://stampsmarter.com/features/SQ...rank_ID.html

But you are likely to be in the $10 - $20 USD area even if it is in good shape I suspect. There are a lot of these around (esp 481 it seems) and the main market for them is in the US....
