For those of you who collect Canada revenue - tobacco

Here is the QC 50 gram stamp:

It is different from the 20 & 25 Cigarette stamps.
It cost $23.80 at the corner store (dépanneur au Québec) and I don't even smoke!

The other varieties are:
200 Cigarattes
100/150/200/250/400 grams Tobacco
Cigars & Raw Leaf.

If you want one, and live in one of the following provinces:
AB BC NB NS ON
drop by your corner store, buy a 50-gram pouch, cut off the stamp, send it to me and I'll send you a QC one.

But wait! Act now and I can double the order! The store has 100 QC for [gulp] $40. (I can do it if you can!)

P.S. Still looking for laid-back Cannabis smokers from:
MB NF NT NU SK YT
who are cool to trade, man.

Rest in Peace

Well, Wert, they are in every corner store! The problem is paying for the tabacco! You need to find a compliant smoker!

The new cannabis stamps are very difficult to get off the packages without tearing them because of the type of glue used. I don't use the product so went into one of the new private outlets and simply asked one of the clerks for help saying I was a stamp collector. He was helpful and was able to salvage a few Manitoba stamps for me from product that had been damaged or returned. Only one stamp was fully intact and the others had tears or were ripped. I came back a few weeks later and he didn't have anymore salvaged stamps so I'm thinking this practice may be against government policy. Interested in what others are doing to get a hold of these revenue stamps. They seem to be rare and worth a few $$ on ebay.

A news story about how the cannabis stamp process operates and the difficulties it's caused to product producers.

Wigeon44... Thanks for the article. I learned that each province has to put on its own glue — which explains why some are easier to remove than others. And there's the daunting possibility that different sizes can be ordered.
Of course, the stamps should be destroyed under normal opening procedures. They can be saved off cardboard quite easily but not plastic, I'd say.
I'll trade a QC Cannabis for that MB (intact of course)

I wonder if stamplift fluid would remove the stamps. Maybe your helpful clerk could assist in finding a few interested customers, offer a reward for intact stamps.

I've tried a number of things including Pure Citrus which I use to get US stamps off paper but have gotten very mixed results.

If I can get some additional MB stamps I'd be keen to trade for other jurisdictions. I put out a Facebook request to my small circle of contacts asking for their help in this but so far no feedback. Unfortunately CBD oil boxes do not come with stamps as it's for medical use and has no hallucinogen. Wonder if edible cannabis packages will require the stamps when these new products come out?

Phil I'm reticent to go too far with sales staff to lift these stamps off packaging as indeed this may be illegal and get them in trouble. The reward idea with other customers might be worth a try. I'll ask the store manager for advice on this.

Here in the US we have a number of regulations which require 'non-pealable' labels by law for some products.

As a fellow who had to develop and implement 'non-pealable' labels I can tell you that it is easy to produce a label which will self-destruct upon anyone trying to remove or tamper with it (which was the intent of the regulations). So if these were designed to be 'non-removable' the chances of getting them off in one piece is very, very low. (Unless someone made a mistake with the adhesive and application.)

I've gotten the cannabis label off using a hair dryer it came off the plastic perfectly but when I got to where the label is on the paper it remove a layer of the paper.
The trouble was the glue wouldn't dry even after being left in the open for a week until finally I solved the problem thanks to Canada Post.

Cheers, Bill
