Nothing much fazes me, but this was a jolt to the system.

I purchased the above 1 year ago, and really like the service, it is budget and works fabulously..........however

I just received a couple of emails, apparently I gave authorisation for "auto renewal" I do not recall this, and would have refused.

I have now been billed twice via paypal for the product 2020

I cannot see how I can cancel auto renewal, lots of members are witnessing the same.

Am I able to cancel the renewal via paypal?
(Happy to pay for the 2020 product...once)

Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

(Designer is German, retail appears Ireland, and I get billed from Beijing ..I think)
PS I have emailed a complaint.. will advise if I get a reply.

Update.
I have cancelled future auto payments to digital river via Paypal
(easily done)
Looking at the billing, I have paid $44 for malware hunter pro.

This what I think has happened
Glary utilities checks for software updates
Malware pro was given, so I updated, it appears this is a separate program
and have been billed for it (without my knowledge)

This appears subterfuge, I am not liking this business model at all.
I'll update as I get info.

No, Glary is a computer 'protection' utility tool.

Another case of the 'cure being worse than the illness'. In this case, 0ne of two things happened to Rodney. Either he mistakenly clicked on something which signed him up or more likely, his new computer came with this utility pre-installed and he did not notice that he had to opt out of the ongoing maintenance program.

Thanks Don,
yes, sort of aligned with philately, in that we all use computers to communicate here.

The frightening thing was for me, to be able to buy a product online, and have the vendor the ability to approve a paypal ongoing payments without my knowledge. I have still yet to find how they did that.

I like the software, but this was over the top.

Sorted.
I'll be wary when I am asked to pay the new account next year.

I have no proof, but I am sure I would not have ticked that box.
