I hope this is the appropriate forum. Here's an excerpt from a stamp's ebay listing:

"Graded 85 PF Certificate SMQ $15 (DFP mo/day/yr)"

QUESTIONS:
1. A grade of "85" (presumably "85%") can convey very different meanings depending on context. In philately, what does this tell me?

2. "SMQ" means what?

3. "DFP?"

Thank you in advance...

Information specific to Philatelic Foundation grading:

http://www.philatelicfoundation.org...ess/grading/

SMQ = Stamp Market Quarterly which is a price guide published by the PSE for stamps of various grades.

The information in parenthesis is an internal seller listing description. Gary Posner does this on most listings. Usually the listing date and some other reference.
