The Stanley Gibbons catalogues list but don't describe stamps that have been sold in Philatelic circles but have apparently not been used in the issuing country for postage on letters. Fujeira, Umm al qawein and some Arab states were among the worst offenders. In the UK they are referred to as Wallpaper. Does anyone know if any such stamps were produced in coils? I rather fancy having a Roll of wallpaper in my collection of Philatelic terms and phrases.
' While one is slow to imagine that they left any money on the table, it is unlikely that even the folks who brought us The Dunes (as they are known to those people separated from you by a common tongue) would have borne the expense of producing coils.
After all, instead of producing the same stamp in another form, it was (perhaps) simpler and more profitable to just produce yet another stamp.
