Good point, m and m. I haven't slipped yet with the knife, but surely there'll come a day when I will. What I need is a sharper pair of tongs.

I use to slide my finger on the strip downwards until the upper edge is lifted from the page, then insert the stamp with the other hand or tweezers.
Much easier to control the strength and pressure of your finger than your tweezers.
