2c Jackson #135 Or #146 Or #157 Or #168 With Weird Perforation?

Hello all stamp masters,

Which Scott number is this 2c Jackson exactly?
Is this perforation normal?

It is a poorly centered 157.

Perforation count looks fine to me. What do you think you are seeing?

I have the impression that it is too wide, kind of like a jumbo on the sides.

It is wider that normal, but that can happen if the stamp is from the left vertical row of a left sheet or the right vertical row of a right sheet. Stampazine (an old NYC retail store) once had a sheet of Scott 214 under the glass with the lower right corner stamp having larger margins than your 2¢ stamp. The right vertical row of perforations went off at an angle, getting progressively closer to the edge of the sheet margin.

Alan Campbell wrote on article in the Chronicle showing that the spacing between the outer three vertical rows on an Official sheet was wider than the center rows. So spacing between stamps can vary.

Thanks for that, I did not know.
Would it make the wider stamps rarer than the others?
