The stamp is an 24 att stamp issued in 1887 and although it says postage and revenue, it as never used for revenue purposes The Ratanakosin Era started in 1889 equalts RS108. This is 108 years after starting the new Royal dynasty. The picture on the stamp shows King Rama V. So the stamp was used after 1889
The red overprint is like a security marking. The stamp has a big black Swiss type postmark from I belive Bangkok

I like some help and advice with the Revenue? stamp shown in the picture.

It is a Thai stamp from December 1932 and the first line reads license to transport alcohol.

In 1932 there was a revolution in Thailand and the new government was desperate to raise money. They started several taxes. However the first revenue stamps on bottles of alcohol was introduced much later after 1943. For sure a fee had to be paid for the alcohol transport license.

My Question: Can this stamp be considered a Revenue stamp??
Do other countries have revenue stamps for transporting alcohol?

Thailand Playing Card Revenues

I like to share 4 pages of my Thailand Playing Card Revenue stamps. The earliest playing cards were imported from the US Playing Card Co
Upon arrival at Thai customs, each card was stamped with a small square red handstamp. The pack was resealed and the seal would receive an additional round handstamp. see scan 1. The handstamp reads, taxes already paid.

For the longest time, Thailand did not have specific revenue stamps for playing cards. Provisional stamps were made by overprinting existing alcohol or tobacco revenue stamps. Most would also receive a square red handstamp.

Playing card stamps in good condition are very rare. They are glued so strongly to the box or plastic holder that it is nearly impossible to soak them off I had some complete packs of cards and I opened the (paper) box in such a way that the stamp is not broken

Can anybody please help me with the black (Arabic?) text overprint. What does it say?

The stamps shown are forgery copies of a 1943 Thai Occupation of Kelantan revenue stamp. The 1943 revenue stamps were photolithography copies of an earlier Kelantan postage stamp (frame only).
The forgery makes the quality double bad. I think the forgeries are from the late 1900's

These stamps were forged in many different colors and are forged to be sold to collectors.

It could just be bogus.It does not look like the Jawi(Kelantan)alphabet.Some odd characters.

Collecting foreign revenues cancelled at the consulates in Bangkok
or ChiangMai. My favorites are the British Consular, diplomatic or foreign services from times long gone. I think the consulate employees were trained to put nice clean cancels on the stamps

Many of us do not travel a lot at this moment due to Covid restrictions. However when you start to travel again and look at the 4 pictures below, you will never ever complain again about long flights and too many stops. The Thai lady travelled in 1952 to the UK.
I guess to work for a Thai diplomatic family for just 6 months (baby?). I purchased the complete passport for the British revenue stamps with cancel Bangkok
I could figure out the flight the lady took looking at all the transit visa in her passport and could match this up with the BOAC flights she took. Luckily the old schedules of BOAC are all to find in the internet!!!
