Hello,

This is my first post on this forum and I am going through my great-grandfather's brother's stamp collection. The collection has been gifted to me by my grandfather and I have been working on taking apart, sorting by country, and then eventually placing on stock pages in a binder. But I need some help identifying this stamp but have had no luck trying to find information on the internet.

Thanks,

XC_Runner18

The words around the central medallion appear to mean "State Fee." It seems to be a revenue stamp from the 1919 - 1922 period.

This stamp is a documentary revenue stamp from 1919. It is listed in the Barefoot Baltic States Revenues catalog as either #22 or #30. Number 22 is watermarked zigzags (cat. value = 2.00), and #30 is watermarked hexagons (cat. value =1.50).

My Barefoot catalog is old (1993), so consider that the stamp, if sound, may catalog a little higher than values I have shown here.

XC runner 18 you don't say how experienced you are in collecting stamps.Just in case you didn't know a revenue stamp is a stamp used to pay a tax and is usually not a valid for postage. I hope you already knew this.
