I don't know whether this is an actual Overprint, most likely hand applied, or not. On Scott #25 and it is under a smudged cancel. The single line in violet ink is TIMBRE, meaning stamp, in capital letters. There is an indistinct bar of violet above the M. Purpose? Did it create a fiscal?

TIMBRE (in spanish, not in french) means "revenue stamp". I assume this is a fiscal overprint.

This is listed as a fiscal in Forbin and as a postal fiscal in SG, both with the overprint in red.

Thank you for the confirmation. I had assumed that it was fiscal but looked to have a postal use. The SG Listing would indicate that was a normal situation for the stamp.
