I wish I could say that things will change because of this, but it never has before. A few months after this is over most people will go back to treating the retail/service industry workers as the invisible people that they always have been. I spent 35 years in retail, I know how it is.
I had to go into town (population 2,600) today to pick up some prescription refills and it was eerily quiet. I began to wonder, though, how long it will be before people, especially the younger generation, begin to tire of it and begin throwing caution to the wind.
