I was just curious if it was your stamp?

And yes, I do have an opinion.

It is a #500. A really nice image of this stamp next to a #546 would be very useful.

Thanks... I was leaning towards 500 but the left ribbon and the small
segment in the large right ribbon had me on the fence.

There is a slight amount of setoff on the back, but I've seen coil
waste with setoff.

Last question, on another topic... I put up another post, which is so
far, unanswered... I'm trying to ascertain how many 630 dot over S
exist... based upon some basic info I have, it's between 1300 and 1400.

Can you provide any additional guidance?

The partial second line in the right or left ribbon is characteristic of Scott 500. An article in the Bureau Specialist some years ago plated the five or ten configurations of the second partial line from the five and ten subject transfer rolls used produce Scott 500 plates 10208 and 10209.

Would it be possible to post a true 600 DPI scan? Perhaps a non-Photoshop user on this forum can recommend software to optimize scans for the web and fit the 200K forum size limit without losing detail or sharpness. While it is possible to experiment with saving .jpg files at different quality levels, the original scan file should not be modified. Once the number of bytes or the size of a scan is reduced, it cannot be expanded and remain sharp.
