The four Ecuador stamps are listed in Gibbons as obligatory tax stamps and by Scott as postal tax stamps:

SG 541 / Scott RA37 (1936)
SG 525 / Scott RA32 (1936)
SG 624 / Scott RA45 (1940)
SG 623 / Scott RA44 (1939)

The basic stamp in each case is a tobacco tax stamp.

I am a Revenue novice but have had fun reading through this topic and the US Revenue threads.
Keep 'em coming.

Here are some that I have, but I have little or no info so will just post a few pics and see what gives.

These Israel Revenues are no longer used [as far as I can see]. Income Tax,receipt and Bill revenues. Some with surcharges, overprints etc.

One of my many jobs in our village is to organize removals. I am often asked/told to dispose of unwanted goods and furniture. This is how my Flea Market thrives !
The items on the three stockcards above were all found in envelopes when I was moving our offices [secretariat] from one building to another and was asked to throw a lot of papers away. I didn't have control over everything and often wonder what else was discarded during those days.
Anyway, I managed to retrieve something.

An unhappy Stealth tax

...and a happy stealth tax

Brown he came, and Brown he went,
The Labour party spent and spent,
And then they lost the next election,
As voters went in 'right' direction,
But they'll be back, the mighty Red,
The Coalition no longer wed,
And then Dear Brown can smile anew,
About this Stealth Tax Revenue.

Daryl,

Ooooh! You won't want that !
Unless you want to get up at six in the morning and finish work at 4 in the afternoon for a pittance of a salary.
Work for the summer months in 40 degrees of heat every day in scorching hot burning sun. It puts a new slant on slave labour !
Then you are working with old, neh ancient equipment that you have to look after until physically impossible to use. That includes the 40 year old John Deere 10/20; a run-down Kawasaki Mule and three rusted old wagons; and a new lawn mower that we no longer need because the grass has all but gone...destroyed by the contractors re-building our village. PLUS, all the old tools that make the local Museum look like a Modern Day department store !

On top of that you have acre upon acre of land to look after with only one slightly dimented Thai worker who doesn't speak any English or Hebrew. And not only the Land
You have be in charge of the sewers; the water; the Gas Station; all the paperwork those jobs entail; the cleaning; the moving and removals and fixing anything else that someone wants or needs.
But that's not all.
You have to answer the mobile phone about 100 times a day and keep a diary of jobs needed doing.

Are you still interested?
Yes?
Good.
The best part about the job is that you have to be in two places at one time, almost every day in fact. Sometimes you need to be in three places at one time.
But there are the 'plus' sides to all this.
You are your own boss. If you are fed up with Mrs Blogg complaining or Haim getting angry or the water pipes bursting or having to stand in someone else's s**t because their sewer is blocked....you can go home and play with stamps and unwind. No one will bother you [if you switch off the mobile phone] and it is these moments I take comfort in SCF. And you can too Daryl when you start work here !!

And don't forget to bring your own working clothes...because you 'aint gonna get nothin' here !

Londonbus1.....But just think of all those Philatelic goodies you will find rummaging.

Here's a few more Revs.

Here are some Ethiopian revenues. The first row are from the Italian occupation during WWII.

This thread needs a bump.

Here is a one-pounder, overprinted for one pound...

Any one know the purpose of this stamp?

Lucky its a revenue...that nicked corner would really bother me if it was postal...

And now for something completely different...perhaps not strictly speaking a revenue...a 1924 Italian franchise stamp...without doing a lot of research (okay, any), I'm guessing this was issued to a library organization.
