I have done some searching and I am having a difficult time finding anything on this item. Does anyone know anything about this item and/or where I can find info about it? Thank you in advance.
The State Revenue Society published a catalog edited by David Wrisley a few years ago. That is the standard reference for state revenues excluding Ohio sales tax and hunting and fishing stamps. This stamp is one of a short series of five stamps that was used to pay the inspection fee on peaches and apples beginning in 1927. The purpose was to ensure that high quality fruit was being brought to market and the moneys collected were used for advertising. Thus we know of Georgia peaches. We don't know how long the stamps were is use, but they were probably discontinued sometime after 1933.
